Defining what we wanted to build
During the contract phase, the preferred vendor dropped out, putting the project timelines in jeopardy. With technical details of the installation provided by the team’s IT professionals, I executed a series of vector drawings to include in the Request For Proposals.
These helped to define the scope of work, and were also used for consultations with senior managers and content owners in-house. The project stayed on time because internal approvals could take place at the same time as new proposals by competing developers.
The winning vendor was able to use my drawings as part of the underlying skeleton, thus informing the first phases of the project. This saved money as well as time.
